EU clothing imports fall by 13% from January to April

In April, EU clothing imports began to fall sharply, and the decline in May further expanded, and it is expected to gradually stabilize in June. Affected by the epidemic lockdown, EU apparel imports in April fell 37% year-on-year, and imports fell 40% year-on-year.

From January to April this year, EU clothing imports and imports fell only 13% year-on-year. In dollar terms, the unit price of EU clothing imports in April fell nearly 5% year-on-year, imports to China fell nearly 40% year-on-year, and imports to other regions fell 36%. In April, the unit price of Chinese clothing rose by 32% year-on-year in euros, while the unit price in other countries fell by 9%.
